Barry Stanton

After spending his freshman year on the men’s JV team, Barry Stanton moved up to varsity basketball in 1984 where he played the next 94 games for coach Jerry Welsh. Stanton started at center in both the 1985-86 and 1986-87 seasons. The undefeated 1986 team won the NCAA Division III Championship. A two-time All-SUNYAC member, Stanton was also named to the 1986 NCAA All-Tournament team, as well as the NCAA All-East Region team. Stanton finished his college career with 995 points and 593 rebounds.

Completing his bachelor’s in economics in 1988, Stanton entered the workforce as a sales account representative. In 1994, he began a career in corporate security before switching to national security in 2002. Stanton is currently a federal officer with the Department of U.S. Customs and Border Protection stationed at Newark Liberty International Airport. Married to Shenae George, Stanton’s family includes his daughter, Cydney, and his two stepsons, Carl Coleman and Corey Brown.
