POTSDAM, N.Y – Junior cross country runner Samuel Barney (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Plattsburgh) and junior women's soccer player Megan Fry (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) have been named SUNY Potsdam Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 4.
 
Barney ran an 8K personal best of 29:28, finishing sixth at the Word of Life Huskies Invitational on Saturday.
 
Fry made 23 saves in two games last week, only allowing two goals for a .920 save percentage and 1.00 goals-against average on the week. In New Paltz on Wednesday, the goalkeeper made 15 stops. On Saturday, she had another eight saves in a 0-0 draw with Oneonta for her sixth shutout of the season.
