Ice Arena
Renting ice at the newly renovated Maxcy Hall ice arena cost $180.00 USD per hour.
*Groups wishing to use the ice must obtain a Revocable Permit and include "The State University of New York" on their Certificate of Liability Insurance form.
*Scheduling ice time and obtaining a Revocable Permit to use Maxcy Hall can be arranged through the Athletic Facilities Manager, Michael Busby and he can be reached by email at
busbymp@potsdam.edu (all ice rentals must be booked through email).
The Maxcy Hall Ice Arena is currently closed for the summer.
Field House

Outside Users/Rental Costs Associated with Renting a Maxcy Hall Facility
**All Maxcy Hall Facilities must be booked for a minimum of (1) hour. Any additional time following the minimum hour rented can be booked in quarter hour increments.
Field House - $75.00 per hour
Jerry Welsh Gymnasium – Practices: $75.00 per hour, Games: $250.00 per game
Turf Field – Practices: $100.00 per hour, Games: $250.00 per game
Pool: $75.00 per hour (price does not include lifeguard. If you need a lifeguard, add $25.00 per hour to the cost).
Softball Field – Practice: $100.00 per hour, Games: $250.00 per game.
Ice Arena - $125.00 per hour
Dance Studio - $50.00 per hour
Classroom 104/220 - $50.00 per hour
**Packaged Deals are available for those wishing to book multiple facilities on a given day.
**Scheduling rental times and obtaining a SUNY Potsdam Revocable Permit to use Maxcy Hall can be arranged through the Athletic Facilities Manager, Michael Busby and he can be reached by email at
busbymp@potsdam.edu. All rentals must be booked through email and the contents of the email must include: Organization Name, Contact Name, Physical Address, Phone Number, Email Address.
Additional Charges and Fees:
Student worker (clock operator): $25.00 per hour
Custodian Charge: $50.00 per hour
**Both student workers and custodians must be requested at least two weeks prior to the event date and both are subject to worker availability.

Step 1: Log in Using your SUNY Potsdam Login (If you are an outside user/prospective renter, skip Step 1 and follow Steps 2-5).
Step 2: On the left side, click “Locations”
Step 3: Select the date you are looking for.
Step 4: Click Add/Remove Locations, Check the “Maxcy Hall” Box, then hit “Update Locations.”
Step 5: Scroll down to find the available times for the location you are seeking.
