CANTON, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam track and field teams opened their 2024-25 seasons with four place finishes at the St. Lawrence University Holiday Relays. The host Saints won both the men's and women's titles. The Bears combined to record 17 program top-10 finishes and two program records.

Emily Yousey (Lacona, N.Y./Sandy Creek) finished seventh in the women's 300M with a program record time of 45.69. She then teamed with junior
Madison Wagner (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango), sophomore
Karissa Donnelly (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Morristown) and freshman
Makayla Farmer (Massena, N.Y./Massena) to finish second in the sprint medley relay with a program record time of 4:51.95. Donnelly was 12th in the 300M with Potsdam's third fastest time of 47.57. Farmer was fourth in the Mile with the program's ninth fastest time of 6:26.89. In the 60M dash, Wagner had the program's sixth fastest time of 8.44 in the preliminaries, where she was sixth and again in the finals where she finished fourth. Sophomore
Adrianna Orlando (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) was fifth in the 1000M with Potsdam's fourth fastest time of 3:39.31. Junior
Rylee Semco (Slate Hill, N.Y./Minisink Valley) finished eighth in the shot put with the program's 10th best distance of 7.88M. She was sixth in the weight throw with Potsdam's eighth farthest distance of 9.82M.

Alic Rock (Keeseville, N.Y./AuSable Valley) recorded the program's third fastest time of 4:27.43 in the event. In the 600M, sophomores
Samuel Barney (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Plattsburgh) and
Jack Schroeder (Gouverneur, N.Y./Gouverneur) were 11th and 12th, respectively. Barney had the program's fifth fastest time (1:39.60) in the event and Schroeder had the sixth fastest (1:52.44). In the 1000M, Robinson was ninth with Potsdam's seventh fastest time of 3:14.98 and Rock was 10th with the program's 10th fastest time of 3:26.59. Josef Kaufman (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) and senior
Logan Ploss (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia) was third with Potsdam's sixth fastest time of 12:58.56. Moussa was second in the weight throw with the program's third best distance of 13.03M. He was then fourth in the triple jump with Potsdam's third farthest distance of 11.34M. Manley was fifth in the same event with the program's seventh best distance of 9.79M.

The Bears are now off until January 11, when they travel to the Middlebury Invitational.
