POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam track and field athletes Josh Bifolchi (Ottawa, Ontario/Sir Robert Borden) and Madison Wagner (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango) have been named SUNY Potsdam Athletes of the Week for the week ending May 5.
 
Bifolchi successfully defended his SUNYAC javelin championship for the third time. He's won the title in each of his four seasons. The senior launched the missile 53.50m to defeat the runner up by two meters. Bifolchi was just .02 meters short of matching his Potsdam record.
 
Wagner topped her school record in the 100M preliminaries on Friday with a time of 12.72. She finished sixth to qualify for today's finals. This afternoon she finished sixth in the finals with Potsdam's third-best time of 12.85. She then joined junior Emily Yousey (Lacona, N.Y./Sandy Creek), freshman JoAnne Powers (Malone, N.Y./Franklin Academy) and junior Emma Robbins (Newark, N.Y./Newark) to finish sixth in the 4x100M relay with the program's second-best time of 51.56.
