POTSDAM, N.Y.- SUNY Potsdam senior goaltender
John Werber (Skillman, N.J./Team Maryland) has been selected to the All-
State University of New York Athletic Conference second team for men's ice hockey. Werber had the best season of his career, helping the Bears reach the postseason for the second year in a row.
Werber accumulated a record of 5-6-3 in 16 games, with 14 starts. He had a goals-against-average of 2.06 and a save percentage of .938, a record in both categories for Potsdam. He recorded his first career shutout against Route 11 rival SUNY Canton. He also turned in a 46-save effort in a 4-2 win over 14th-ranked Cortland, and a career high 53-saves in a 1-1 draw with Oswego.
Werber was honored as the SUNYAC Goalie of the Week for two weeks in a row during a 3-0-1 stretch.
The Bears posted an 8-14-4, 6-7-1 SUNYAC record this year.
