Sylvain earned top-10 marks in all three throws he competed in at the SLU Saints Ice Broken Open. He opened with a personal record in shotput as he placed second with a throw of 12.78m for the program's seventh best mark. He went on to earn the program's fifth best throw in discus, with a personal best of 25.40m and the program's eighth best javelin throw with a mark of 27.72m.
