Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The SUNY Potsdam volleyball team suffered back-to-back defeats Friday at the Union Tournament in Schenectady, N.Y., but not before freshman Jenna Blujus posted a rare accomplishment.

Blujus, a setter from Baldwinsville, N.Y., recorded a triple-double with 23 assists, 10 kills and 20 digs in the Bears' 26-24, 28-26, 25-16 loss against Skidmore (13-3). According to Potsdam coach Steve Pike, few players, if any, have achieved the statistical feat in his nine years at the helm.

Unfortunately for the Bears (6-15), Blujus' performance was the only highlight from the match as the team struggled with ball control errors and other mistakes.

"We didn't execute and lacked consistency," Pike said. "We have to perform physically at a higher level to have a chance to win in our two matches tomorrow."

In the second contest of the night, Potsdam was downed 25-19, 25-16, 25-16 against Ithaca (11-9). Freshman Annie Smith (Burke, N.Y.) tallied eight kills, while senior captain Erica Romaniello (Selden, N.Y.) collected 16 digs.

The Bears resume tournament play tomorrow against Union at 12 p.m. and Lasell at 2 p.m.
