The Saints jumped on Potsdam just 1:26 into the contest as Marcelle Justison and Katherine Polido set up Julia Friesen for a 1-0 advantage. Elena Rogers made it 2-0 after finishing a pass from Devon Shatkin in the 32nd minute. St. Lawrence took the two-goal lead into the break.
Nearly 12 minutes into the second half, Justison sent a cross into the middle of the box and Stephanie Sayward extended the lead to 3-0. Five minutes later, Justison beat Palmer in a race to the ball on a pass from Rogers for the Saints fourth marker. Nyssa LaClair scored an unassisted goal at 78:58 and Alexandra Watherbie capped the scoring at 6-0 with a tally in the 84th minute.
Saints goalie Abby van Geldern made two saves in the first 57:01 to earn the victory. Andrea Strauss played the next 23:24 and Amanda Chase was in goal the last 9:35. Both were untested.
The Bears wrap up the 2011 season with a home matchup with SUNY Canton on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. The contest originally started on Sept. 13, but was halted due to lightning while tied 1-1. Since the contest was still early in the second half when play was stopped, it will be replayed in its entirety.
