POTSDAM N.Y.- The SUNY Potsdam men's soccer team (10-7-1) closed out the regular season at Clarkson University (5-9-2) Tuesday night at Hantz Turf Field. The Bears fell to the Golden Knights with a score of 3-0. Zachary Godin scored twice and recorded an assist during the contest for Clarkson.

At 17:42, the Golden Knights opened the scoring. Drew Lewis kicked a strike toward the goal, but the ball bounced off the post and Godin was there to finish. Clarkson edged Potsdam in shots 5-4 while the Bears had three corner kicks. Golden Knights' goalie Riley McDonald stopped four in the half and Bears' keeper

Play continued to be even throughout the second half, but Potsdam couldn't keep Clarkson off the board. Jon Jones finished a headed off a free kick at 58:38 to put the Golden Knights up 2-0. The Bears managed to have three more corner kicks during the period, but were unable to convert. Godin added another goal, to close out the scoring, when a penalty was called inside the box on Potsdam with less than five minutes to go. The added insurance goal sealed the 3-0 victory for Clarkson.

McDonald finished with eight saves and the win, while Kohler stopped three. The Bears outshot Clarkson 15-12 and edged them 6-2 in corner kicks.

Potsdam will head to SUNY Plattsburgh Saturday to compete in the first round of SUNYAC playoffs at 6 p.m.
