Carli Reynolds (Indian Lake, N.Y./Indian Lake) led the Bears with 19 points, six rebounds and six steals. Senior forward Shannon McGinnis (Walworth, N.Y./Gananda) and junior forward Allison McKenna (Huntington, N.Y./John J. Glenn) each recorded a double-double for the Knights.

Less than a minute into the contest, junior forward
Katie LaVoie (Malone, N.Y./Franklin Academy) got the Bears on the board with a 3-pointer. The Knights' offense opened up with a 10-2 run that was capped with a layup from sophomore guard Kara Houppert (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas). Reynolds answered with a three that was followed by a jumper from senior guard
Bailey Weigel (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville East) to tie the game at 10. The Bears tied the game once more, but couldn't get the lead. At 13:59, Geneseo started a 14-8 run after a layup by sophomore guard Katie Durand (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor). LaVoie drained a three to try to slow the Knights' offense, but Geneseo kept coming. Another 12-1 run by the Knights closed out the first half with Geneseo leading 41-25.

The Knights fired out of the locker room and went on a 14-0 run that lasted through the first five minutes of the half. Weigel drained a jumper to end the Bear drought and sophomore forward
Patti Dorgler (Floral Park, N.Y./Archbishop Malloy) added another to cut Geneseo's lead. At 12:50, Reynolds hit back-to-back-to-back threes and senior forward
Veronica Sapp (Potsdam, N.Y./Potsdam) followed with two made free throws to cut the Knights lead to 18 with 8:20 remaining. Geneseo closed out the second half with a 16-9 run to seal the 74-49 victory.

Weigel finished with 10 points and seven boards, while LaVoie added nine points for the Bears. McGinnis recorded 21 points and 16 rebounds, while McKenna added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard Dana Cohan (Greece, N.Y./Greece Athena) tallied 14 points with six assists.

The Bears are back in action tomorrow at Jerry Welsh Gymnasium to battle with College at Brockport at 4 p.m.
