Pete Gropp (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) earned his sixth victory with eight saves and just two goals allowed in three quarters.
It was all Potsdam from the outset. The Bears scored five times in the opening quarter. Doherty scored twice and sophomore attackman

Freshman attack Luke Krizman (Syracuse, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) finally got the Lakers on the board with a man-up goal at 9:57 of the second quarter. Potsdam answered with another five straight. Sophomore attack Berkely Stone (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) got the run started with an assist from junior midfielder
Brian Martin (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) at 7:18. Moran recorded his second of the day at 5:59 and Doherty competed the hat trick with an assist from senior captain
Jon Woodworth (Great Bend, N.Y./Carthage) at 4:40. Bonafede struck again 28 seconds later and Martin sent Potsdam into the break with a 10-1 lead with a goal at 1:43.

Matt Kennedy (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) scored the first three of the third quarter top make it a 12-goal game at 11:03. Junior attackman Troy Crevier (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) scored Oswego's second of the game two minutes later, but the Bears countered with another three goals to take a commanding 16-2 lead. Joe Hayes (Black River, N.Y./Carthage) capped Potsdam's scoring at 16 with 1:02 left in the quarter.
The Lakers scored the only three goals of the final 15 minutes. Senior midfielder Dylan DiFante (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) struck at 12:26. Senior attackman Cody Hoose (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) scored a minute later and senior midfielder Kyle Wistner (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville East) made it 16-5 at 10:06.
Laker sophomore goalie Wyatt Russo (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) allowed 10 goals and made six saves in the first 30 minutes. Fellow sophomore Troy Calkin (Endicott, N.Y./Union-Endicott) stopped nine shots and allowed six goals in the final 30. Bears sophomore and junior goalies

Potsdam dominated in shots (46-23), ground balls (33-22) and face-offs (18-7). The Bears were 0-for-3 on the man advantage and Oswego finished 1-for-3.
