BROCKPORT, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam women's soccer team (9-6-2, 2-5-2 SUNYAC) battled evenly with the College at Brockport (8-5-2, 4-4-1) for 110 minutes on Saturday in a scoreless draw with the Golden Eagles. Bears senior goalie
Bri Thibeau (Salem, N.Y./Salem) made eight saves for her 15th career shutout.
Potsdam outshot Brockport 7-5 in the first half. Thibeau made three stops in the opening 45 minutes. The goalkeeper made another three in the second half as the Golden Eagles build a 9-6 edge in shots. In the two, 10-minute overtime periods, the Bears outshot Brockport 3-2 and Thibeau made a save in each session.
Brockport goalie Catherine Eliasson finished with 10 stops of her own for her share of the shutout. The total shots were even at 16 all, but the Golden Eagles had a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Bears wrap up the season on Tuesday at 4 p.m. when they host St. Lawrence University.
