POTSDAM, N.Y.- Fourth quarter rally lifts SUNY Oneonta (14-6, 10-3 SUNYAC) over the SUNY Potsdam women's basketball team (1-19, 0-13 SUNYAC) with a score of 61-48. Senior forward
Katie LaVoie (Malone, N.Y./Franklin Academy) led the Bears with 12 points and four boards and the Red Dragons' freshman guard Teresa Anken (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) finished with 21 points and two steals in the victory.

The teams traded baskets during the duration of the first quarter with Oneonta holding the slight 12-8 advantage at the end of the 10 minutes. Freshman guard
Abbey Smith (Bainbridge, N.Y./Bainbridge-Guilford) had four of Potsdam's eight points. The Red Dragons got a little more offense going in the second quarter, but the Bears kept it a 10 point game. Oneonta's Anken had six of the Red Dragons' 14 points and the teams headed to their locker rooms.

Potsdam's offense controlled the third quarter with an opening 11-5 run with senior forward
Veronica Sapp (Potsdam, N.Y./Potsdam) leading the way with five points in a 40 second span. With 48 seconds to go, LaVoie hit from behind the arch followed by two free throws from freshman guard
Breanne Sapp (Potsdam, N.Y./Potsdam) to get Oneonta's lead down to three with the final 10 minutes left. The Red Dragons started the fourth quarter with an 11-4 run to get their lead back to double digits with 4:15 to go. Anken had nine of the 11 points during the run. Potsdam hit their shots when they needed it, but Oneonta would answer either from the floor or the foul line to hold on to take 61-48 win. Â

Senior forward Lyteshia Price (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) and senior guard Bryn Loomis (Norwich, N.Y./Norwich) each recorded 13 points with Price adding eight rebounds. Junior forward Sara DiPasquale (Buffalo, N.Y./Cardinal O'Hara) had a game-high 13 boards.

The Bears will host Oswego State Friday at 5:30 p.m. and SUNY Cortland Saturday at 4 p.m. in Jerry Welsh Gymnasium.
