POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam Athletic Department will hold a Maroon Out during the Bears basketball and hockey games against Plattsburgh State on Friday, February 10.
Fans are encouraged to wear maroon to the men's and women's basketball games scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. as well as the men's hockey game at 7 p.m. Those in need of new Bears gear can stop by the College Bookstore on game day for a 25 percent discount on all maroon apparel and hats that not already on sale.
The same night, tables will be set up for donations for the family of local businessman Jeff James. James was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 brain cancer. Funds raised will go toward medical, food and travel costs for Jeff and his family. In addition to being the owner of Special Tee Printing, James is also a longtime supporter of local youth sports as a coach and official. In the fall, he is a collegiate soccer referee and has officiated multiple Bears contests.
So come out and support the Bears and a good cause as they take on the rival Cardinals!
