BROCKPORT, N.Y.- Sharp shooting from the College at Brockport (2-6, 0-3 SUNYAC) lifted the Golden Eagles to a 87-43 win over the SUNY Potsdam women's basketball team (1-7, 0-3 SUNYAC) Saturday afternoon at Jim and John Vlogiantitis Gymnasium. Freshman guard
Alexis Davis (Brooklyn, N.Y./Williamsburg H.S. Architecture & Design) finished with nine points, two rebounds and two steals to lead the Bears, while three Brockport players scored in double-digits.

Brockport's hot shooting starting right after tip off with Schyler Laux draining a three followed with a jumper from Emily Nestler. Potsdam stuck right with the Golden Eagles and got within three after two made free throws from junior guard
Riley Luckie (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Ogdensburg). Brockport pulled away for a 10 point lead after a 9-2 run to close out the first. The Golden Eagles kept on firing and scored 25 points during the second to get out to a 45-16 lead heading into halftime. Bailey Pratt, Laux and Nestler combined for all 25 points for Brockport.

A 12-0 run to open the third quarter from the Golden Eagles, sparked nine straight points from the Bears, including four from Davis, a three from sophomore guard

Mikayla Horton (Hammond, N.Y./Hammond). The fourth quarter had a lot of back-and-forth action from the teams with Brockport holding on to their lead and taking the victory.

The Golden Eagles shot 50-percent from the floor and 57-percent from beyond the arc. Brockport held the slight 41-31 advantage in rebounds to Potsdam.

Laux led Brockport with 30 points, while Pratt added 20 and Nestler tallied 10. Zaria McCullough dished out 11 assists and added three steals, six points and four rebounds.

Potsdam will be back after the holiday break, to take on SUNY Fredonia and Buffalo State the weekend of January 5
