ONEONTA, N.Y.—SUNY Oneonta (6-8, 3-5 SUNYAC) scored quickly in both halves to defeat the SUNY Potsdam women's soccer team (11-3-1, 4-2-1) 3-1 on Saturday afternoon. Freshman forward Makenna Crosson (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) scored for the Bears. Senior midfielder Brooke Falsion (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport, N.Y.) assisted on the play to give her 103 career points (44g, 15a), passing Hall of Famer Jodi Ziemba '07 for the program's scoring record.
 
The Red Dragons jumped out in front just 4:28 into the contest. Seaver Lipshie picked up a loose ball at the right side of the net and chipped it into the top of the goal for a 1-0 lead. The Bears were able to generate pressure after the goal, outshooting Oneonta 7-4, but Red Dragons goalie Jolene Krom made four saves to frustrate them. The score was unchanged at the break.
 
Oneonta doubled the lead just 3:29 into the second half as Christina Kornfeld buried a loose ball from in front of the net. The Red Dragons continued to control the play as the half wound down. Sienna Nicolich finished a cross at 67:18 to give Oneonta the insurance they needed. Crosson finally got the Bears on the board at the 78:26 mark after burying the rebound off a shot from Falsion. However, the Red Dragons' defense recovered and was able to close out the victory.
 
Krom and Potsdam junior goalkeeper Delphine Léonard (Anjou, Quebec/Dawson College Prep) each finished with five saves.

Oneonta edged Potsdam in shots 13-10 and corners 9-5.
 
The Bears return home to close out the regular season next weekend. They host Buffalo State at 3 p.m. on Friday and then Fredonia at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
