CORTLAND, N.Y.—Two goals from junior forward Lexi Dean (Schenectady, N.Y./Mohonasen) and one from sophomore forward Makenna Crosson (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) erased a 2-0 deficit and helped the SUNY Potsdam women's soccer team (6-8-1, 2-4-1 SUNYAC) forge a 3-3 tie at SUNY Cortland (8-5-2, 5-0-2) on Saturday afternoon. Senior goalie Delphine Léonard (Anjou, Quebec/Dawson College Prep) finished with eight saves for the Bears.
 
Potsdam outshot the Red Dragons 9-6 in the opening half, but Cortland was able to execute on their limited opportunities. Emily Hinck made it 1-0 just 6:17 into the contest with a shot under the crossbar. 5:02 later, Alannah O'Shea finished a cross at the left post to double the lead. The score was unchanged at the break.
 
The Bears charged out of the gate in the second half. Dean set up Crosson's marker at 52:19 to close the gap. At 66:08, Dean buried a free kick from 30 yards out to tie the game. 10 minutes later, she put Potsdam up 3-2 with a left footer from 15 yards out. The Red Dragons were able to spoil the victory at 82:30 when Jaden Galluzzo buried the rebound off a Léonard save.
 
Cortland outshot the Bears 4-0 in the first overtime period, with Léonard making two more stops. In the 106th minute, Léonard preserved the draw by robbing Gabrielle Savage.
 
Red Dragon goalie Danika Svendsen finished with seven saves.
 
Dean's five-point day moves her into fourth place on the program's all-time scoring list with 25 goals and 16 assists for 66 points. She is just four points back of Rylie Murray '19 for third and already ranks third in Potsdam history for goals scored.
 
The 1-0-1 weekend has the Bears back in the thick of the playoff hunt. They cap the regular season next weekend at home. Potsdam hosts Oneonta at 3 p.m. on Friday and New Paltz at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
