SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam women's volleyball team (10-17) fell to host Skidmore College (14-10) (23-25, 23-25, 15-25) and Union College (14-13) (14-25, 21-25, 24-26) by 3-0 scores on Saturday afternoon at the Skidmore Invitational.
Against the Thoroughbreds, sophomore outside hitter
Emme Price (Glendale, Ariz./Deer Valley) led the Bears offense with 10 kills. Freshman outside hitter
Mikayla Myers (Gloversville, N.Y./Mayfield) had six kills and three blocks. Senior captain
Natalie Magallon (Commerce, Calif./Bell Gardens) recorded 23 digs, two aces and three assists. Freshman setter
Kendall Jones (Parker, Colo./Elizabeth) had 27 assists, five digs and two blocks, while freshman outside hitter
Jessica Ader (Highland Mills, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) posted five kills and seven digs.
Ader had another strong performance in the finale against the Dutchwomen, totaling 10 kills and nine digs. Junior captain
Nicole Hansen (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) contributed six kills and Myers added another five to her day. Jones recorded 26 more assists along with 12 digs. Magallon capped her Potsdam career with 17 digs and an ace.
The day marked the close of the careers of seniors Magallon,
Xanara Ruiz (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown) and
Dahlia Rafael-Tirado (Warwick, R.I./Classical).
