CLERMONT, FLA.-- The SUNY Potsdam softball team (3-5) defeated Bridgewater State (2-6) 2-1 in walk-off fashion before falling to Delaware Valley (1-3) 14-1 in five innings. Junior pitcher
Megan Fish (Getzville, N.Y./Williamsville North) pitched a complete game against the Bears of Bridgewater State and had two RBI on the day.
In the top of the second, Bridgewater State got on the board first. With two runners in scoring position, Samantha Mulcahy singled to shortstop and scored Alexandra Taylor.
Throughout the game Potsdam had a couple opportunities to tie, getting runners in scoring position in the fourth and fifth inning but could not cross the plate.
In the bottom seventh, Potsdam was down to their final out, when junior captain
Sarah Hyland (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville) singled to right center. Junior center fielder
Lucy Condon (Kitchener, Ontario/St. David Catholic) then battled the pitcher until she hit a single to left, advancing sophomore pinch runner
Shelby Van Epps (Ballston Lake, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) to second. Senior captain
Brooke Falsion (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) got the bases loaded with a hard shot to shortstop. Freshman left fielder
Vanessa Brandt (Saugerties, N.Y./Saugerties) hit another hard ball to shortstop who bobbled the ball and allowed Van Epps to tie the game, and the bases remained loaded for Fish. Fish worked the count to 3-2 and got a low ball four and brought in Condon to win, 2-1.
Fish (2-2) got the win after pitching a complete game, allowing one run on seven hits and struck out two. Natalie Sorrenti had a solid outing for Bridgewater State. Sorrenti pitched the whole game, allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out five.
Potsdam had seven different players with a hit. Â Â Â
Game two the Aggies got rolling quickly, scoring five runs on seven hits in the second.
In the top of the third, the Bears got on back when Fish singled up the middle and brought home Falsion to make it 5-1.
Delaware Valley kept their aggression going with the bats in the third, scoring another nine runs.
Potsdam did not retaliate and lost 14-1 in five innings.

Alissa McCauley (1-1) got the loss after pitching 2.0 innings and allowing six earned runs on eight hits. Sophomore
Kiera Nesbitt (Sound Beach, N.Y./Miller Place) pitched 0.2 innings and allowed three earned runs, and freshman
Sierra Ashley (Lisbon, N.Y./Lisbon) pitched 1.1 innings, allowed one hit and struck out one.

Claire Donaldson (Lisbon, N.Y./Lisbon) each had a hit in the contest.
The Bears are back in action Thursday as they continue the Spring Break Trip with a doubleheader against Carnegie Mellon at 3:45 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
