Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

No. 5 Red Dragons overpower Bears

ONEONTA, N.Y.—No. 5 SUNY Oneonta (8-0-1, 4-0 SUNYAC) scored twice in the first half and four times in the second half to defeat the SUNY Potsdam men's soccer team (2-7-2, 0-4) 6-0 on Saturday afternoon. Lucas Fecci scored twice for the Red Dragons.
 
Fecci opened the scoring at 7:55 of the contest. At the 35:24 mark, Tristan Battistoni doubled the advantage with a penalty kick. The score was unchanged at the break.
 
Just 2:39 into the second half Fecci struck again. Five minutes later Matt Howe made it 4-0 after breaking free. At 58:12 Giddel Alavarado buried a rebound. With just 3:36 on the clock, David Vides closed the scoring after picking up a long pass.
 
Bears senior goalie Conor Callan (Piermont, N.Y./Tappan Zee) made four saves. Red Dragons keeper Francesco Scotti stopped all four shots he faced in the first 82:47. Jake Meaney didn't face a shot in the last 7:13.
 
The Bears are back home next Friday, when they host Fredonia at 1 p.m.
