Lakers sink Bears, 3-1

POTSDAM, N.Y.—The Oswego State Lakers (9-12, 1-7 SUNUAC) defeated the SUNY Potsdam Bears (5-11, 1-7 SUNYAC) in a 3-1 (23-25, 21-25, 25-18, 15-25) victory on Friday night.
 
Bears Senior captain Nikki Ramirez (West Covina, Calif./Bishop Amat) had a 15 digs on the night while sophomore outside hitter Mikayla Myers (Gloversville, N.Y./Mayfield) contributed 10 kills and one block. Junior outside hitter Jessica Ader (Highland Mills, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) had a great showing with 10 kills, three aces and 14 digs for the Bears. Junior setter Alyssa Rogers (Anchorage, Alaska/Grace Christian) finished the night with 20 assists and two aces.
 
The Lakers just got past the Bears with a 25-23 win in set one and 25-21 in set two. Potsdam answered with 25-18 win in set three before ultimately falling to the Lakers in set four 15-25. Georgia Farry had 10 kills on the night for the Lakers, while Grace Taylor totaled seven blocks. Dana Carey had 14 assists and four aces, while McKenna Cobin had 18 assists and 11 digs. Skylar Bechard totaled 19 digs and five assists on the night.

Potsdam is back in action tomorrow against SUNY Cortland at 1 p.m. at home.
