CANTON, N.Y.—A night after the SUNY Potsdam men's hockey team (4-10) rallied for an overtime win, SUNY Canton (4-7) avenged the loss with a 5-2 victory in the Roos House on Saturday. Sophomore defenseman

Filip Jakobsson opened the scoring at 3:12 of the first period to give Canton the early lead. Potsdam countered with two goals in the next 3:36. Lennon evened the contest at 4:14 with assists from freshman forward

Robert Clerc (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Oswego State. McArthur gave the Bears their only lead of the contest with a power-play goal at 6:48. Clerc and senior captain

Connor Green (New Port Richey, Fla./Tampa Bay Juniors) made 14 saves in the opening 20 minutes and Potsdam held the one-goal advantage.
There was no scoring in the second period. Canton had three power plays to the Bears' one but couldn't get even through the middle stanza. Green stopped all 10 shots he faced in the second.
Canton scored four times in the third period to seize control of the contest. Sebastien Paquette finally got the Roos the equalizer at 3:12. Nic Herringer netted the eventual game-winner just 1:19 later. At 9:19, Evan Pringle made it a two-goal contest. With 1:03 remaining, Green was pulled for an extra attacker. However, Zic Sirota tacked on an empty-netter nine seconds later to ice the win.
Green finished with 32 saves and Kelson Hooper stopped 21 shots to earn the victory. Potsdam was 1-for-5 on the power play and the Kangaroos went 0-for-4.
The Bears are now off until January 6, when they face Oswego State in the first round of the Plattsburgh Cardinal Winter Classic at 3:30.
