Isaac Oduro Jr. (Jamaica, N.Y./Christ the King) and a three from Sillah along with two free throws gave Potsdam its first lead at 9-7. The lead changed hands nine times over the rest of the half and at times it was a three-point shooting battle. Each team hit six threes and combined to hit 12 out of 22 attempts for a 55-percent clip. Sillah hit a jumper at 4:59 to give the Bears their biggest advantage of the opening 20 minutes. Two more free throws gave Potsdam a 36-32 lead at the break. Sillah had 11 points in the half, while Huestis added 10 and Oduro scored eight.
After more back-and-forth play, a three-point play from Segar extended the Bears lead to 44-37 at 15:05. However, Fredonia surged back with an 11-2 run capped by a jumper from Malik Jemison and the Blue Devils were back on top 48-46 at 13:36. With time ticking down Sillah hit a jumper to give Potsdam a 57-56 lead and the Bears never trailed again. Segar followed with a layup, Huestis hit a three and Sillah made the most of a three-point play and Potsdam was up 65-60. The Bears then held off Fredonia at the free-throw line for the 73-64 win.
