POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Geneseo (10-3, 4-0 SUNYAC) defeated the SUNY Potsdam men's lacrosse team (6-6, 0-4) 15-2 on Friday afternoon. Sophomore midfielder Drew Rose (Brasher Falls, N.Y../St. Lawrence Central) scored twice for the Bears.
 
Senior attackman Christian Marcello, Jr. (Saints James, N.Y./Smithtown East) led the Knights with six points on two goals and four assists. Senior attackman Brady Sullivan (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) scored three goals. Sophomore attackman Jimmy Atkinson (Northport, N.Y./Northport) had two goals and an assist and senior attack Reese Gerlach (Goshen, N.H./Don Bosco Prep) also scored two goals.
 
Freshman goalie Saka Thompson (Akwesasne, N.Y./Salmon River) made 13 saves and allowed 11 goals in the first half for the Bears. Junior Liam O'Neil (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) stopped six shots and allowed four goals. Junior Collin Dougherty (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia) didn't face a shot in the last 3:27.
 
Senior goalie Mark Pav (South Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) stopped all 12 shots he faced in the first 37:22 to earn the win.
 
Junior attack Cobie Cree (Akwesasne, N.Y./Salmon River) and sophomore attackman Owen Walsh (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) each collected four ground balls.
 
The Bears are back in action next Saturday, April 22, when they head to SUNY New Paltz for a 1 p.m. contest.
