Parker Kelly (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Beekmantown) led the Bears with 19 points and six rebounds. Senior guard
Colton Huestis (Ticonderoga, N.Y./Ticonderoga) finished with 11 points.
Potsdam tried to keep pace with the Continentals in the first half. Hamilton opened the contest in on a 9-2 run. Garret Keyhani capped the run with a three. A jumper from junior forward
Parker Kelly (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Beekmantown) got the Bears within 15-11 at the 15:11 mark. After Hamilton pulled away again, Potsdam continued to battle. Senior guard
Isaac Oduro Jr. (Jamaica, N.Y./Christ the King) hit a jumper at 11:55 to close the gap to 23-19. The Continentals slowly extended their lead over the rest of the half. Teja Singh hit a three at 5:20 to give Hamilton a double digit lead of 43-33. Singh struck again at 0:43 to give the Continentals their largest advantage of the opening 20 minutes at 53-42. Potsdam trailed 53-44 at the break.
Hamilton put the game out of reach in the second half. Hank Morgan hit a three at 14:50 to make it a 70-51 contest. Kelly responded with a three and the Bears got a jumper from junior guard
Kaleb Lewis (Greenfield, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) and layup from Huestis to get within 70-58. Freshman guard
Erik Wall (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) scored from beyond the arc with 9:15 left to narrow the gap to 12 a final time, but Potsdam couldn't get any closer.
Lewis finished with nine points and seven boards. Oduro also scored nine and had six rebounds and six assists. Freshman guard
Nicholas Cortez (New York, N.Y./Forest Hills) matched the pair with nine points as well.
Morgan paced the Continentals with 22 points and six boards. Jalen Reese and Matthew Rideout each had 11 points and Reese added nine rebounds and six assists. Keyhani also reached double digits with 10 points.
Hamilton shot 42.4-percent (14-33) from 3-point range.
The Bears are back in action on Friday when they head to SUNY New Paltz for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
