POTSDAM, N.Y.—Clarkson University (7-1-8) scored three times in the second half in a 4-1 win over the SUNY Potsdam men's soccer team (6-9-3) on Tuesday evening. The contest was the season finale for the Bears. Senior captain
Justin Mossey (Amity Harbor, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) scored for the Bears to move into the program's scoring top-10.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Eric McKean scored an unassisted marker at the 10:34 mark to get Clarkson on the board.
- McKean struck again at 51:39 with an assist from Mosh Baraka.
- Remi Ufheil made it 3-0 at 74:25.
- Lars Stephensson finished a feed from Jack Donnelly at 76:14 for the Golden Knights' final goal.
- Mossey broke up the shutout at 82:16 with his ninth goal of the season.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Sophomore goalie Sam Allen (Amsterdam, N.Y./Broadalbin-Perth) made one stop and allowed a goal in the first half for the Bears. Graduate student Lucas Schiel (Bremen, Germany/Colegio Humboldt) stopped another shot and allowed the final three goals in the second half.
- Carter Gladstrup made two saves for Clarkson in the first half, while Josh Morelli made three saves and allowed a goal in the final 45 minutes.
- With the goal, Mossey now has 38 career points on 17 goals and four assists. He finishes his career tied for eighth in points with Stephen Auyer '16 and Chris Herdic '87. Mossey is tied for sixth in goals with Keith Hoch '68.
The Bears finish the season with a 6-9-3 overall record.
