CANTON, N.Y.—Sophomore forward
Jakub Hall (Anchorage, Alaska/Richmond Generals) scored with 2:14 remaining to lift the SUNY Potsdam men's hockey team (3-2, 1-0 SUNYAC) over SUNY Canton (2-3, 0-1) in the teams' SUNYAC opener 3-1. Graduate student assistant captain
Jack Loran (Massena, N.Y./New England Wolves) scored twice, including an empty-net goal to go with an assist to seal the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After an hour and a half delay to the start of the game due to a broken Zamboni, Loran got the Bears on the board just 6:56 into the contest. Junior assistant captain Michael Campbell (Toronto, Ontario/Jersey Whalers) assisted on the goal.
- At 5:00 of the second period, Nolan Zotter finished a pass from Brayden Fryfogle to even the score.
- Hall struck at 17:46 of the third period with the eventual game-winner on helpers from Loran and junior forward Mason Hoehn (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Richmond Generals).
- Hoehn then fed Loran with 20 seconds remaining for the empty-netter and the 3-1 final.
