POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Cortland (6-4, 4-0 SUNYAC) defeated the SUNY Potsdam women's lacrosse team (3-4, 0-3 SUNYAC) 21-6 in a steady rain on Wednesday afternoon. Cortland started quickly, building a 13-0 lead, and stayed in control until the end.

Lindsey LaDue (Massena, N.Y./Massena) had three goals for the Bears along with three ground balls and seven draw controls. She now has 99 draw controls for her career. Junior midfielder

Anita Reitano (Averill Park, N.Y./Averill Park) had an assist, giving her 207 points (128-79) over her career, just 11 shy of the program's scoring record.
Sophomore
Olivia Minarich (Albany, N.Y./Albany) started in goal for Potsdam. She allowed 15 goals and made five saves in the first half. Sophomore
Jane Olszewski (Thornwood, N.Y./Westlake) allowed two goals in the third quarter and freshman
Allyson Bruns (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) allowed four goals and made a save in the fourth.
Senior attack Toni Cashman (East Moriches, N.Y./Westhampton Beach) led the Red Dragons with five goals and an assist. Graduate student attack Rachel Janis (Laurel, N.Y./Mattituck) had six assists and sophomore midfielder Emma Dempsey (Brewerton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) scored four goals and had an assist for five points. Graduate student attack Amy Hoeffner (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) registered two goals and two assists. Freshman attack Ashley Melillo (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) scored three goals and Sophomore midfielder Chelsey Weber (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) rounded out the leaders with two goals and an assist.
Sophomore goalie Margaret Morgan (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) earned the win with a save and a goal allowed in the first half. Freshman goalie Trinity Parks (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Forks) made three saves and allowed five goals in the second half.
The Bears are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Brockport for a 1 p.m. contest.
