POTSDAM, N.Y.- Hamilton College (13-4) started quickly and finished strong to beat the SUNY Potsdam men's basketball team (2-13) 83-60 on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Continentals jumped to a 27-15 lead over the first nine minutes of the contest.
- Senior guard Hank Morgan (Caldwell, N.J.) accumulated 10 points in the first half for the Continentals.
- Senior guard Walter deFreitas (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored 12 points in the first half, but the Bears trailed 39-27 at the break.
- The Continentals started the second half with a 9-0 run, extending their lead to 48-27.
- Freshman guard Bryson Brown (New York, N.Y.) had a pair of threes late in the second, but Hamilton continued to pull away for the 83-60 win.

- The Bears shot 42.2-percent from the floor and the Continentals hit 41.8.
- Hamilton controlled the glass, 45-29.
- deFretias finished with 20 points, shooting 7-10 from the field and 4-7 from the three with four rebounds and three steals.
- Morgan, senior guard Teja Singh (Seattle, Wash./Seattle Academy) and senior forward Graham Robinson (Concord, Mass./St. Paul's School) all accumulated double digits for the Continentals.
