POTSDAM, N.Y.- The SUNY Potsdam men's basketball team (2-14, 2-7 SUNYAC) just missed a go-ahead three in the final seconds in a 67-65 loss to the Oneonta Red Dragons (9-8, 4-6 SUNYAC) on Saturday evening in Jerry Welsh Gymnasium.

WHAT HAPPENED
- The Bears started the first half with a 12-2 run by 12:45 mark.
- The Red Dragons had a 17-7 response to tie the game 19-19 with 7:22 left in the first.
- A back-and-forth battle between left the Red Dragons trailing 35-34 at the half.
- A steal from sophomore guard Mohammad Sylla (Bronx, N.Y./Darrow) followed by a  behind the back pass to keep the ball in from senior forward Walter deFreitas (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian), back to Sylla for a layup got the Bears within 63-62 with 3:27 remaining.
- With three seconds left, Potsdam just missed a three, falling to Oneonta 67-65. Â

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Bears had a 10-point lead at 12:27 of the first with a score of 15-5.
- Sylla finished with 21 points with eight rebounds.
- Senior Guard Zyeir Lawrence (Oneonta, N.Y./Oneonta) had 18 points and five rebounds to lead the Red Dragons.

Prior to the start of the contest, Bears honored broadcaster Warren Potter with a banner in the rafters of Jerry Welsh Gymnasium. Potter passed away unexpectedly last January. His family was on hand to unveil the banner.
