POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Cortland (11-2-4, 7-0-1 SUNYAC) edged the SUNY Potsdam women's soccer team (8-7-2, 2-6-1) 1-0 on the Bears' Senior Day and their season finale.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cortland struck in the 19th minute for the contest's only goal. At 18:42, junior forward Piper Klammer (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) finished a pass from senior forward Julia DeTurris (Hicksville, N.Y./Hicksville) for the game-winner.
- Bears junior goalie Megan Fry (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) was outstanding for the remainder of the contest, making multiple highlight reel saves.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Fry finished with 10 saves for the Bears.
- Senior goalie Olivia Rouse (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) recorded the shutout for the Red Dragons.
SEASON WRAPUP
- At 8-7-2, Potsdam completed its first winning season since 2018.
- Fry finished the season ranked second in the SUNYAC in wins (8), saves (112) and shutouts (6/2).
