POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Oneonta (7-2-2, 2-0-1 SUNYAC) scored five goals in each half to defeat the SUNY Potsdam men's soccer team (4-5-1, 0-3) 10-1 on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior forward Joe Holder (Greenwood Lake, N.Y./Warwick) opened the scoring just 1:48 into the contest with an assist from senior forward Sam Rogers (Broadalbin, N.Y./Broadalbin-Perth).
- At 9:41, senior forward Luigi Prosperi (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook) scored with a helper from Holder.
- Holder scored his second at 13:29 with assists from Prosperi and senior midfielder Zach Rabadi (Hopewell Junctions, N.Y./John Jay)
- Rogers struck at 22:28 with an unassisted tally.
- Holder completed his hat trick at 23:39 with an assist from senior defender Dillon Kelly (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Beacon).
- Sophomore forward JJ Williams (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) got the Bears on the board after a corner kick at 25:56 with assists from sophomore forward Thomas Wendel (Mechanicville, N.Y./Mechanicville) and junior forward Josue Escobar (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schriever).
- Red Dragons junior midfielder Erik Popp (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) scored the first of the second half at 52:53.
- Sophomore forward Tommy Kliampas (South Huntington, N.Y./Walt Whitman) scored the last four goals in a row at 55:22, 72:44, 86:10 and 88:03. Freshman midfielder Jack Bochenski (Somers, N.Y./Somers) and junior forward Michael Cocca (Lagrangeville, N.Y./Arlington) assisted on the first of the four. Junior forward Zach Tanner (Massapequa, Park, N.Y./Saint Anthony's) assisted on the third and sophomore midfielder Chris Arriaza (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) had the last assist.

- Bears senior goalie Ian Schwartz (Amsterdam, N.Y./Broadalbin-Perth) made six saves.
- Oneonta junior keeper James Cintron (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) stopped one shot and allowed one goal in the first half to earn the win. Freshmen keepers Nico Osorio (Valley Stream, N.Y./St. Dominick's) and Matthew Rosen made one and two saves, respectively in the second half.
