POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam men's volleyball team (11-7) swept Carlow University (0-10) 3-0 on Friday evening.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Bears started quickly in set one and rolled to a 25-13 victory. Sophomore outside hitter Darius Dorsey-Rhule (Elmont, N.Y./Elmont) had two kills and three aces for the Bears.
• Carlow went on a 4-1 run to open set two, but Potsdam quickly rallied for a 25-16 decision. Sophomore outside hitter Jesse Schwartz (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) and freshman opposite Liam Yusko (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) each had two aces.
• It was all Bears in the third set, as they rolled to another 25-16 win to close out the match. Sophomore middle hitter Connor McGovern (Henrietta, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) had two aces and two kills, while Yusko and Schwartz each added two kills.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Sophomore middle hitter Benson Jovel-Truong (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) led the Bears with six kills, four digs, three assists and two aces.
• Dorsey-Rhule and McGovern each finished with four kills.
• Schwartz posted two kills, four aces and five digs.
• Yusko recorded 11 assists, three kills and two aces.

The Bears host Carlow again tomorrow at noon before squaring off with SUNY Poly in a critical NEVC matchup at 4 p.m.
