Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Bears claim third straight shutout

JOHNSON, VT.—The SUNY Potsdam women's soccer team (2-0-1) hasn't allowed a goal in three games this season, defeating Vermont State Johnson 1-0 on the road this afternoon. Senior captain Emily Jordan (Lisbon, N.Y./Lisbon) scored the contest's lone goal in the ninth minute.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Senior defender Jaiden Kertenis (Hampden, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) set up Jordan at the 9:00 mark for the game-winner.
  • Potsdam outshot the Badgers 14-4 in the first half and 8-4 in the second half.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • The Bears finished with a 22-8 advantage in shots and a 2-1 edge in corners.
  • Junior goalie Megan Fry (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) stopped eight shots for her second career win and third shutout.
