Mustangs race past Potsdam

POTSDAM, N.Y.—Morrisville State (5-10, 4-4 SUNYAC) defeated the SUNY Potsdam men's basketball team (1-13, 1-6) 110-81 on Saturday afternoon in Jerry Welsh Gymnasium.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Bears were within 12-11 at 14:46, but a 24-9 run gave the Mustangs a 36-20 advantage at 7:55.
  • Morrisville kept pushing and led 60-35 at the break.
  • Potsdam nearly matched the Mustangs in scoring in the second half but couldn't make up ground.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Morrisville shot 55.4-percent from the floor and Potsdam hit 39.1-percent of its shots.
  • The Mustangs had 42 rebounds to the Bears' 35.
  • Junior guard Timothy Hardy (Portsmouth, Va./Ocean Lakes) led the Bears with a career-high 16 points to go with five rebounds.
  • Freshman guard Bobby Kemokai (New Brunswick, N.J./Plattsburgh) scored 13, while junior captain Ethan Baksh (Queens, N.Y./Richmond Hill) and senior guard Jaylen Singh (Murfreesburo, Tenn./Rockvale) had 12 and 10, respectively.
  • Junior forward Tony Burges (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) paced the Mustangs with 18 points.
