POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Oneonta (16-8, 14-3 SUNYAC) got off to a red-hot start and defeated the SUNY Potsdam men's basketball team (1-23, 1-16) 89-48 on Bear Pride Night in Jerry Welsh Gymnasium.

- Oneonta shot 50-percent from the floor in the first half to build a 43-17 lead.
- The Red Dragons outscored the Bears 46-31 in the second half.
- Oneonta finished with 50-percent shooting on the night and held Potsdam to 30-percent.
- The Red Dragons outrebounded the Bears 53-22.
- Junior guard Timothy Hardy (Portsmouth, Va./Ocean Lakes) scored nine points for Potsdam and freshman center Batualp Ozen (Ankara, Turkey/Furtah Prep) had eight points.
- Sophomore guard Nate Cohen (Somers, N.Y./Somers) led the Red Dragons with 20 points and eight rebounds. Former Bear and junior guard Nicholas Cortez (Harlem, N.Y./Forest Hills) scored 15 points.
