POTSDAM, N.Y.—Senior captain
Adrianna Orlando (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) gave the SUNY Potsdam women's soccer team (2-3-2) a 1-0 lead, but Bryant and Stratton College (2-1-2) rallied to earn a 1-1 draw on Thursday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bears appeared to open the scoring in the 25th minute, but the goal was waved off due to offsides.
- At 28:22, Potsdam finally broke through. Freshman forward Mikayla Jaros (New Hartford, N.Y./New Hartford) sent a long ball up the left side of the field, where Orlando caught it in stride. She then ripped a shot off the hands of Bobcats junior goalie Jameela St. Clair (The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago) and into the net.
- In the 34th minute, BSC senior Masego Nfandiso (Gaborone, Botswana) launched free kick from just outside the box, but Bears senior goalie Caroline Vines (Irondequoit, N.Y./Irondequoit) snatched it out of the air.
- The Bobcats got even at 55:00. In a play very similar to the Bears' goal, senior forward Nicelle Drew (St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda) sent a pass forward to Nfandiso. She went in all alone and fired into the right corner of the net.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Bobcats outshot Potsdam 16-13 and finished with an 8-3 edge in corner kicks.
- Vines made 10 saves and St. Clair stopped seven shots.

The Bears head across town to face Clarkson University on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
