Adrianna Orlando (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) each scored for the Bears.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bears struck just 1:46 into the contest as Csiza scored from outside the box.
- Potsdam continued to press the Badgers, outshooting Johnson 13-2, but were unable to add to the lead in the opening half.
- The Bears controlled the play in the second half as well but didn't extend the lead until late.
- At 82:13, Orlando scored on a long shot after a pass from freshman midfielder Anna Lee (Oceola, Pa./Cowanesque Valley) to make it 2-0. Sophomore forward Madison Goodspeed (Warrensburg, N.Y./Warrensburg) started the play and picked up the second assist.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Bears outshot the Badgers 17-8 and had a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
- Senior captain Caroline Vines (Irondequoit, N.Y./Irondequoit) earned her fifth career win with one save.
- Badgers sophomore goalie Elias Heaton (Mount Pleasant, Iowa/Mount Pleasant) stopped six shots.
- Potsdam is now 9-2 in the all-time series with Johnson dating back to a 3-2 overtime win in Potsdam on September 17, 1991.
