Alec Roy is back for his third season with the Bears.
 
2022: Played in 28 matches, led Bears and third in NECC with 760 assists, totaled 30 aces, 131 digs and 28 blocks
 
2020: Played in all 17 matches, totaled 43 kills, 234 assists 20 service aces, 72 digs and 13 blocks
 
2019 (with Elmira): Played in three matches, tallied six assists and two digs
 
Personal: Son of Michael and Patty Roy. . . majoring in Psychology with a minor in Human Services . . . played volleyball, indoor and outdoor track and field and tennis in high school . . .  was two time MVP, Most Improved, Lumberjack Award, three time All-Tournament Team, won six volleyball tournaments, first team All-League and an All-Conference Nominee for volleyball in high school also finished Top five ten times in League and Sectionals at North Tonawanda High School . . . career ambition is to be a counselor . . . favorite band is the Beatles, favorite rapper is Kendrick Lamar, and favorite movie is American Sniper . . . favorite team is Manchester United, favorite athlete is Lionel Messi . . . father Michael played Division I volleyball for George Mason University . . . favorite thing about being an NCAA Athlete is the chance to continue his athletic career and the opportunity to represent his school . . . Lionel Messi is also his hero because his leadership and character are something that he admires and tries to duplicate on the court . . . his greatest sports accomplishment is leading his high school volleyball team to a 17-3 overall record and making the Sectional Semifinals . . . hobbies include playing baseball and soccer . . . Potsdam Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative for the team . . . greatest Potsdam memory is beating NVU-Johnson in our first home game as a program in front of a packed crowd . . . member of the President’s list and was 2022 NECC Academic All-Conference
