Intramural Co-ed Soccer Rules


RULES FOR INTRAMURAL CO-ED SOCCER

Teams will consist of nine players. Leagues will be set up and a round-robin tournament will be held with a single elimination play off.

1.) Each team will consist of seven players, one of whom shall be the goalkeeper. The teams consist of at least three men and two women plus a goalie, who can be of either sex. A team must have at least one women and three men to begin or continue a soccer game and, in this situation, a man must be the goalie. Teams listed first will wear pinnies and will have option to kick off or choice of goad to defend.

2.) Game consists of two 20-minute halves. Two minutes between halves.

3.) Scoring: each goal is worth1 point. The last offensive person to touch the ball shall be credited with the score.

4.) Overtime is 5 minutes running time. If still tied, the score stands.

5.) Offsides only in penalty area. Offsides — must have one opposing players between an offensive player and the opponent's goal.

6.) Penalty area — line 10 yards in front of goal. Goalie can use her hands only in this area.

7.) Throw-ins will be made with a two-hand overhead toss.

8.) NO SLIDING TACKLES, rough play or pushing from behind. Penalty — other team awarded ball at spot of infraction. Defensive team must remain 10 yards away until the ball is put into play.

9.) Only indirect kicks — ball must first touch another player before going into the goal.
