Kelly Fucillo returns for her second season as the Bears' assistant women's lacrosse coach.
"I am excited to have Kelly join our coaching staff this year,” said Bruce. “She has played at a high level and she has the attitude, drive, and work ethic to enhance our program. Kelly is a great addition to our department and I look forward to working with her."
Fucillo comes to Potsdam after spending the last two years teaching physical education and coaching lacrosse at Queen Anne’s School in Caversham, United Kingdom. While in the U.K., she organized and taught lacrosse playing clinics and was a qualified referee. Her prior coaching experience includes serving as an assistant for the Star Riders Lacrosse Club in Syracuse and working at the Le Moyne/University of North Carolina Lacrosse Camp as well as serving as a counselor at the Rick Barnes Goalie Camp.
As a player, Fucillo was a standout at West Genesee High School and Le Moyne College. As a senior at West Genny, the goalie was named an Under Armour All-American. As a four-year starter at Le Moyne, Fucillo posted a 48-24 won-loss record, including a 34-6 mark as a junior and senior. She posted a sub-9.00 goals-against-average and 605 saves in 4,171 minutes, while starting all 72 of the Dolphins games during her four seasons. Fucillo helped Le Moyne to back-to-back NCAA Semifinal appearances in 2011 and 2012. At the conclusion of her senior year with the Dolphins she was named a first team IWLCA All-American and the Northeast-10 Conference Goalkeeper of the Year.
The Camillus, N.Y. native graduated from Le Moyne College in May 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in English and a dual certification in Elementary and Special Education.
