McKenna Rushford

McKenna Rushford enters her second season as Bears assistant women's lacrosse coach.

With the Butler University Bulldogs, Rushford served in many roles. She was the draw, midfield and goalie coach and co-defensive coordinator. Rushford helped develop Butler's first ever first team Big East midfielder, who was second team during her previous season. She also worked with the Bulldogs starting goalie, who ranked in the national top-10 for saves and saves-per-game.

Rushford also served as the team's academic liaison, mental coach and worked to develop its community service program. Rushford also teamed with Pound to create a list of top recruits for Butler to target. She created content for and ran the program's Instagram account and collaborated with the fundraising department to meet a yearly goal for the program.

As a player, Rushford played for Division I teams at the University of Cincinnati and Jacksonville University. She was named Big East Midfielder of the Week twice with the Bearcats. As a Dolphin, Rushford was the team MVP and first and second team All-ASUN as well ranking high in the program's record books in draw controls, caused turnovers and single-game scoring.
