SUNY Potsdam Athletics

Mark Misiak was named SUNY Potsdam Director of Athletics after serving in the same role in an interim capacity during the 2020-21 academic year.

From 2011 to 2022, Misiak served as the Head Coach of the Bears women’s soccer team. His teams secured the first-and only- SUNYAC playoff appearances in program history, qualifying for the tournament in 2017,2018 and 2019. Misiak recruited and coached 18 All-SUNYAC players, three All-Region players and two conference players of the year in Brooke Falsion and Lexi Dean. In 2018, Falsion became the first All-American in program history. In 2017, Misiak was named SUNYAC Coach of the Year.

In addition to his coaching duties, Misiak has also served as Assistant Athletic Director for NCAA compliance and has been involved with numerous committees on campus.

Misiak resides in Hannawa Falls with his wife Karen, who serves as the Executive Director of the Associated Colleges of the St. Lawrence Valley. They have two sons, Max and Milo.
