SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.- The SUNY Potsdam women's volleyball team (7-21) opened play at the Skidmore Invitation against the Thoroughbreds Friday evening. The Bears fell to Skidmore (8-23) in three straight sets (15-25,19-25,20-25).

Gabby Arana (Williston Park, N.Y./Herricks) with 20 digs, while graduate student
Annie Smith (Chateauguay, N.Y./Chateauguay) added 10 digs, one assist and nine kills.

Junior outside hitter
Chelsea Sunday (Akwesasne, N.Y./Salmon River) had a team-high 10 kills and two digs as freshman setter
Rachel Topf (Eagle River, Alaska/Chugiak) recorded 22 assists for the Bears.

Potsdam is back in action tomorrow at 12 p.m. when the Bears face the Farmingdale Rams, followed by Union College at 2 p.m.
