GENESEO, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam volleyball team (6-21, 0-9 SUNYAC) fell to SUNY Fredonia (18-9, 3-5) and Oswego State (21-9, 7-2) by identical 3-0 scores on the final day of SUNYAC Pool Play at SUNY Geneseo this afternoon.
Fredonia took the three sets by 25-17, 25-20 and 25-22 counts. Sophomore utility player
Rachel Topf (Eagle River, Alaska/Chugiak) led Potsdam's offense with six kills, while senior outside hitter
Casey Chase (Central Square, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) and sophomore outside hitter
Kelsey Tompkins (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) each added five. Tompkins also had a match-best four blocks. Freshman setter
Brianna Rodda (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem East) registered 18 assists. Junior libero
Maddie Paquin (Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury) had a game-high 29 digs and senior libero
Allie Romaniello (Selden, N.Y./Newfield) chipped in nine. Sarah Madison had 14 kills for Fredonia and Kelly Edinger finished with 31 assists.
Oswego captured 25-19, 25-20 and 25-22 sets in the day's finale. Topf had a match-high 10 kills and 3 aces. Tompkins recorded seven kills and Rodda added 23 assists and nine digs to her day's totals. Junior libero
Sloane Campbell (Scotia, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) had 12 digs and Paquin contributed nine. Emma Moriarty led the Lakers with nine kills. Lauren Edwards had 19 assists and Kim Cassa totaled 15 digs for Oswego.
The Bears are back in action on Wednesday night when they host SUNY Canton at 7 p.m. Potsdam will honor seniors
