SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam volleyball team (11-16) fell to the Skidmore College Thoroughbreds (16-10) 3-0 on Friday night. Freshman middle hitter
Nicole Hansen (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) led the Bears with nine kills and added five digs. Senior captain
Kelsea Healis (Rohnert Park, Calif./Rancho Cotate) ended with seven kills and two digs.
Skidmore swept Potsdam 25-20, 25-15 and 25-16. Senior outside hitters
Kelsey Tompkins (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) and
Rachel Topf (Eagle River, Alaska/Chugiak) finished with five kills each. Topf totaled eight digs as well. Junior captain
Brianna Rodda (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem East) had 25 assists and eight digs, while junior defensive specialist
Maddie Kaplan (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Peru) finished with 11 digs and an ace.
Skidmore's Caite Canfield led her team with 13 kills and 13 digs. Katy Ehnstrom finished behind Canfield with 10 kills. Lauren Walters finished with 37 assists, while Bailey Hutchins and Allie Dillon had 10 digs each.
The Bears will finish the season against UMass Boston tomorrow at 10 a.m. and the Sage Colleges at 12 p.m. tomorrow.
