BROCKPORT, N.Y.—The College at Brockport (10-13-1, 6-9 SUNYAC) scored five first period goals and went on to defeat the SUNY Potsdam men's hockey team (1-13-1, 6-16-2) 8-3 on Friday night. Senior forwards

Vinny Caligiuri (Shoreham, N.Y./Hartford Wolfpack) and freshman forward
Tyler Young (Massena, N.Y./Kanata Lasers each scored for the Bears.
Connor Hutchins put the Golden Eagles up for good just 21 seconds into the contest. At the 49 second mark, Doc Gentzler doubled the lead. Sophomore goalie

Brendan McMenimen (Merrimac, Mass./Islanders Hockey Club) after the goal. 2:30 into the contest, Hutchins struck again on the power play to make it 3-0. Brown got the Bears on the board at the 9:54 mark, with an assist from sophomore forward
Ben Mariano (Harrisburg, Pa./Hartford Wolfpack). Just over a minute and a half later, Hutchins completed the hat trick. Brian Hurlimann gave Brockport a 5-1 advantage at 13:19 and the score was the same at the first intermission.
Sophomore
Nate Skidmore (Syracuse, N.Y./Buffalo Jr. Sabres) started the second period in goal for Potsdam and played the remainder of the contest. Jake Taylor added a sixth goal for the Golden Eagles at the 9:57 mark.
Brockport started the final period on the power play and made the most of it. Tim Kielich scored to increase the Golden Eagles' lead to 7-1. Caligiuri countered with a power-play goal at the 6:00 mark on an assist from senior forward
Tommy Telesca (Selden, N.Y./New York Bobcats). Three minutes later, Zac Sikich tacked on a shorthanded goal to make it 8-2. Young closed the scoring with the Bears' second power-play marker at 11:26 to get Potsdam back to within five. Junior forward
Dylan Vander Esch (San Jose, Calif./Hartford Wolfpack) and Caligiuri each assisted on the play.
Ralph was tagged with the loss after stopping 12 shots and allowing three goals in 19:11. Skidmore allowed three goals and stopped 21 shots in 40:00. Matt Schneider earned the win with 26 saves.
Both teams were 2-for-4 on the power play.
The Bears wrap up their season at No. 8 Geneseo tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
