POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam softball team (8-19) swept Johnson State by scores of 5-2 and 5-1 on Sunday afternoon. The victories give the Bears three straight and five wins in their last six contests.

Sarah Hyland (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville) singled, senior right fielder
Kolbi Lyon (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Plattsburgh) walked and Falsion singled to load the bases. Senior shortstop
Jordan Ott (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) followed with a walk to force in the first run. Fish then blooped a two-run double center field to make it 4-0.
Fish was also cruising on the mound. She didn't allow a hit until the top of the fifth and left after five shutout innings.
Potsdam tacked on a final run in the bottom of the fifth. Freshman left fielder
Lucy Condon (Kitchener, Ontario/St. David Catholic) singled, stole a base and then scored on an error to put the Bears up 5-0.
The Badgers took advantage of a hit and three errors to plate two in the top of the seventh, but sophomore pitcher
Alissa McCauley (Malone, N.Y./Franklin Academy) struck out Johnson State senior catcher Jennie Moore (Peachem, Vt./Danville) to end the threat and the game.
Fish improved to 4-5 after allowing just the one hit and one walk, while striking out three in her five innings. McCauley struck out three, allowed one hit and two unearned runs in two innings. Erin Murphy (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) singled past a diving Badgers senior first baseman Hannah Leroux (Albany, Vt./Lake Region) to drive her in.
Sophomore third baseman
Chelsea Streeter (Massena, N.Y./Massena) led off the bottom of the fourth with an infield single and was pinch run for by Lyon. Lyon stole second and was bunted to third by Condon. Murphy followed with another RBI single to right to put Potsdam up 3-0.
With one out and runners at the corners in the bottom of the fifth, Brace singled to center to score Falsion. Junior pitcher
Meghan Dougherty (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia) scored Potsdam's final run later on the play after an error by the center fielder.
Dougherty cruised through the first five innings, but ran into some trouble in the sixth. After a single and a walk, Dougherty got Leroux to ground out and struck out senior right fielder Amanda Coulombe (Milton, Vt./Milton) to end the threat.
Johnson State finally got on the board in the top of the seventh via an error, but Dougherty followed with a ground out to close the door on the win.
Dougherty (3-7) went the distance for the Bears. She allowed one unearned run on four hits, three walks and two strikeouts.
