OSWEGO, N.Y.—Senior captain
Jaci Morr (Monroe, Mich./Monroe) scored in the 48th minute to give the SUNY Potsdam women's soccer team (8-2-2, 2-0-1 SUNYAC) a 1-0 win at Oswego State (4-4-1, 1-3) on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore goalie
Delphine Léonard (Montreal, Quebec/Dawson College Prep) made six saves for her first career shutout.
After a scoreless first half, thanks in part to Léonard's four saves, Morr buried her best opportunity of the day at the 47:32 mark with an assist from junior midfielder
Brooke Falsion (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport). The goal gives Morr 33 points on 16 goals and an assist, tying her with Emily Bauer '96 for 14th place on the program's scoring list. Falsion now has 58 points on 25 goals and eight assists. She's just a point back of Lacey Malbeuf '09 for third all-time.
Léonard need just two more saves in the final 45 minutes to clinch the win. The 2-0-1 mark is the best start to conference play in program history and the eight wins are just two shy of the team single-season mark of 10 set in 2010.
The Bears look to keep their momentum going when they host SUNY New Paltz next Friday at 3 p.m.
